Anthony Kulkamp Dias, a 33 year old bank worker in Brazil recently underwent a surgery to remove a tumour in his brain. What is remarkable about this surgery is that Anthony played a guitar and also sung the famous Beatles song 'Yesterday'.

The video is shot by one of the doctors. The motive for letting Anthony perform while on an operation table, was to keep him awake during the surgery to monitor his cerebral responses. Cerebral monitoring allows doctors to judge whether the surgery is going fine and to prevent any injuries to the sensory, motor and speech areas of the brain. Times of India reported that Anthony discovered his tumour about a month before his surgery because he started stammering and couldn't even read the name of his car.

He underwent the surgery last week and was awake, but was anaesthetised and didn't feel any pain. Read how this awake brain surgery saves Kolkata girl s life!
