An idea that floated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mind during his first address last month to the 193-member world body is now to moulding into reality. A little over two weeks after PM Modi had asked the world leaders to adopt an International Yoga Day in his address to the UN General Assembly on September 27, the UN General Assembly has scheduled informal consultations next week on a draft resolution titled 'International Day of Yoga.'
The informal consultations on the draft resolution entitled 'International Day of Yoga' will go on for 2 hours, convened by the Permanent Mission of India on October 14, says the UN website.He had said that by changing lifestyle and creating consciousness, it can help us deal with climate change. 'Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day," Modi had said. "Yoga embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fulfillment; harmony between man and nature; a holistic approach to health and well being.'
