Earthquake Hits Taiwan, Tsunami Alert Issued: At least four people were killed and dozens of others were injured after an earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale struck Taiwan on Wednesday, triggering alerts over a possible tsunami in Japan's Yonaguni Island. This is the strongest earthquake to hit Taiwan in 25 years since a 7.2-magnitude temblor struck the country's Nantou county in 1999, killing more than 2,500 people and injuring over 1,300 others.
According to the reports, the Taiwanese government said that more than 50 others were also injured due to the earthquake. The government also added that at least 26 buildings have collapsed in Taiwan as a result of the massive earthquake, with more than half of those located in the county.
