Do you love the way you look? How many times have you looked in the mirror and wished all your problem areas would just vanish? Well, you aren't alone. According to a study conducted by the Centre for Appearance Research, 67% of all adults report feeling ashamed of the way they look.
In a bold move, a lady took to the streets, stripped down to her bare essentials, blindfolded herself and put up a placard saying , '' I am standing for anyone who has struggled with an eating disorder or self-esteem issues like me ...to support self-acceptance, draw a heart on my body...'' (sic).

What is an eating disorder?
An eating disorder, as per it's definition, is a range of psychological disorders, where the person suffers from abnormal eating habits. Some examples of this kind of disorder are anorexia nervosa, bulimia, binge eating disorder, and a few more.
While anorexia is defined by Dr Samir Parikh, Consultant Psychiatrist, Director, Department of Mental Health and Behavioural Sciences, Fortis Healthcare, as an eating disorder where the person suffers from an intense fear of gaining weight. The person may restrict their eating habits to an extent where it can lead to starvation. Apart from that, people who suffer from this condition are often preoccupied with their body image and weight loss. Bulimia on the other hand is a condition where a person eats large amounts of foods and then proceeds to vomit everything they have eaten.
Why you need to talk about it?
The way you look should never be a measure of your beauty or calibre. Being healthy is definitely important and if that involves losing some weight, doing so the healthy way is your best option -- not following some fad diet or starving yourself.
