With 2014 coming to an end and 2015 holding a lot of hope and promise, it is time to make resolutions. Almost all of us would want to see a better version of themselves at the end of 2015, and making resolutions isn't a bad way to pump oneself up.

Curious to know what other people have planned in their pursuit to be better than before, I decided to ask my fellow colleagues at TheHealthSite.com what their resolutions were.

Dr Reshma Nayak, Business Head and Editor of our website, had a clear-cut answer about her goals. 'One, I would like to spend more time with my daughter. Two, I would like to not work myself to death,' she said. 'Another resolution I have, which is on my list of resolutions every year is to lead a healthier life and hopefully run the Mumbai marathon next year,' she added with a laugh.

Tania Tarafdar vowed to pick up exercising in order to feel good about life. 'I have already joined Zumba and spinning classes, and bought clothes for it too. I'll be joining from January 2015 and going three days a week,' she said. As an afterthought, she added that she would like to stop complaining about petty things. When asked for an example, she said, 'I want to stop saying things like, you didn't call me or you are not paying me much attention, etc.'

Pavitra Sampath too had a lot of expectations from the coming year and sounded determined. 'In 2015, I want to live a healthier and fitter life. Give up habits that are harming my body, be more calm and learn to focus more. I have also resolved to spend more time with my family and strike the perfect work-life balance. Apart from that, I plan to learn some new forms of art like learning to play a musical instrument or painting, that I have not learnt in the past. I have also decided to finish reading all the new and unread books I have,' she said.

Like Pavitra, Debjani Arora too had a long list of resolutions. 'I want to be more punctual and productive at office. I would also like to enroll in a hobby class with my daughter so that I can bond better with her. Learning to cook new dishes for my husband's happiness is another thing that I'd like to do. Lastly, I'd like to go to bed early and wake up at the crack of dawn in the coming year.'

Shraddha Rupavate was initially at a loss of words when asked about her new year's resolution, but later said that she would like to be more organised. 'I would like to be more organised and get rid of my habit of procrastinating,' she said. Like her, Bhavyajyoti Chilukoti too wanted to be more organised. 'I want to be more organised, spend more time with my family, stick to my exercise schedule and read more,' she said. Read more about the benefits of reading.

Sushantdeep Sagvekar plans to jot out his feelings by writing poetry and maintaining his diary. In a flowery tone, he says, 'I want to write more poems, maintain a diary to reminisce about the good and the bad moments in life.'

Ravleen Wadhwa, who is the senior sub-editor of our website, had a simpler goal. 'I would like to give up drinking soft drinks as they are harmful to one's health,' she said. Poorva Chavan, who is a new entrant in the team, thought long and hard about her answer. 'I'd like to be more environment friendly in the coming year,' she decided finally.

Kriti Saraswat hoped to inspire her loved ones to adopt a healthy lifestyle and also wished to start eating healthy wholesome meals herself. 'I eat whenever I can and am not able to eat healthy wholesome meals always. I would like to change that and also inspire my loved ones to stay fit and live healthy,' she said. Here are 5 ways to stick to your New Year's Resolution in 2015.

My resolution

After knowing about the resolutions of my peers, it is only fair that I reveal my resolution too. I would like to work much harder in 2015, and also try and wake up early so that I begin my day on a relaxed and calm note.
