AIIMS Raipur has collaborated with the CRPF and has formally launched a telemedicine unit at the Maoist hit area of Chhattisgarh. The service will be used to treat and provide consultation to patients including civilians. The service will commence at 10 places in the state using Skype a popular video conferencing platform. The platform would also be used by the CRPF to treat its personnel suffering from psychiatric disorders like depression and stress. The Director AIIMS Nitin M Nagarker said the aim of the service was to make expert advice available to people in the far-flung areas of the state.
