Telangana Highway Tragedy: At least 19 people are dead and some injured in a terrible road accident in Telangana after a tipper tuck caused an accident when it hit head on a state run RTC bus in the Hyderabad Bijapur Highway. The unfortunate event happened in the early morning hours at the time, at a village named Manneguda, in the Tandur Mandal of Vikarabad district.
The speeding truck which was carrying gravel, was on its way to Hyderabad and, according to the initial reports, crashed into the opposite lane and hit the bus, with massive force. The collision was so powerful that both cars were heavily damaged down leaving large numbers of passengers trapped in them. Local residents who were on the ground at time of crash began to rescue some people and they alerted the police and emergency services.
Police, fire department and local administration personnel worked to control the situation of the difficult situation, which took hours. They were injured, with the severe cases that were then transferred to bigger hospitals in Hyderabad, where they are receiving further treatment. The officials have ascertained that the number of the dead may increase since some of the victims are still in critical condition.
