Former president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on Sunday said technology was a key enabler for better healthcare.
'Technology is a key enabler for better healthcare. If technology is not affordable, healthcare will not be accessible to the neediest people,' Kalam said launching a first of its kind, healthcare technology on wheels - 'Mission Healthier India'.
Terri Bresenham, president and CEO, South Asia at GE Healthcare said: 'Mission Healthier India' is our endeavour to showcase technologies that bring quality healthcare closer to the people of India.' (Read: 5 Indian healthcare start-ups that are set to make us proud!)
With six new experiential vehicles, GE Healthcare hopes to reach 200,000 clinicians around the country, especially in smaller towns and villages.
The 'Mission Healthier India' is an experiential and educational lounge with 20 low-cost GE innovations.
The lounge will provide doctors a hands-on experience on advanced technologies catering to women, mother and infant care, cardiac diseases and critical care, a release said. (Read: Curb technology import for universal healthcare: Report)
