Tatsuya Nakadai, a Japanese cinema icon, well-known for his roles in Ran, Harakiri and The Human Condition, has passed away at the age of 92. The news was confirmed by Japan's leading media outlet on Tuesday.

Citing a very close source to Tatsuya Nakadai, the legendary Japanese actor reportedly succumbed to pneumonia in a Tokyo hospital on Saturday.

The Ran actor has more than 100 screen credits under his name over the span of seven decades in the Industry. According to reports in the second half of the twentieth century, Tatsuya Nakadai worked with filmmakers like Hiroshi Teshigahara, Mikio Naruse and Kon Ichikawa.
