Tamil Director Vikram Sugumaran Passes Away at 48
Vikram Sugumaran Death Reason: Director Vikram Sugumaran, best known for his critically acclaimed debut Madha Yaanai Koottam, breathed his last on Monday, in Chennai, following a sudden cardiac arrest.
According to the reports, the filmmaker was returning from Madurai after narrating a new script to a producer and had planned to board a bus to Chennai when he experienced chest pain. He suffered severe unconsciousness and fell on the ground - upon reaching the hospital, doctors declared him 'brought dead'.
The Director's last film was Raavana Kottam, in which Shanthnu Bhagyaraj played the lead role. As per sources, he joined as an assistant to Balu Mahendra from 1999 to 2000.
On Monday, Shanthnu took to X and condoled the filmmaker's passing away. In the post, he wrote, "#Rip dearest brother. I've learnt so much from you & will always cherish every moment. Gone too soon. You will be missed. #RIPVikramSugumaran, (sic)".
