A total of 21 fresh cases of swine flu have been detected in West Bengal, taking the total number of positive cases to 167, an official said on Wednesday. So far, the H1N1 influenza has claimed eight lives in the state. The total number of cases has now reached 167 while there have been no new deaths, principal secretary for health and family welfare Malay Kumar De told IANS. He said 98 patients have been cured and discharged from various hospitals in Kolkata. Most of the cases are being reported from the North 24 Parganas district and from Kolkata while some were reported from Howrah and Hooghly districts.
