Swine flu has become a menace in the country, with more than 1300 people succumbing to the deadly H1N1 virus. In Tamil Nadu, three fresh cases of swine flu were reported. 15 people are already undergoing treatment for the disease in the Government Hospital.
Swine flu has claimed six lives, majority of them women, in the area since beginning of the year, hospital officials said. The new cases were from Annur, about 35 km from here, Saibaba Colony, and K K Pudur in the city, they said. (Read: Swine flu symptoms and signs you MUST be aware of!)
Tamil Nadu Health Minister C VIjayabhaskar and Secretary of Health and Family Welfare, J Radhakrishnan, had reviewed the situation in the hospital last night. During the review meeting, it was informed that of 341 persons who tested positive for H1N1 virus, 11 have died across the state, of which seven had diseases like diabetes, asthma and heart ailments.
