Swine flu in Telangana: 61 succumb to H1N1 virus, 1700 infected

It said 53 samples were sent for testing yesterday, out of which 32 tested positive.

Swine flu has become a menace in the country, with more 1100 casualties so far. In Telangana, the death toll has reached to 61 while as many as 1,700 people have been diagnosed with the deadly disease.

This year from January 1 till March 6, 5,419 samples have been tested, of which 1,731 were found positive. The number of deaths due of swine flu and other complications as on date is 61, a bulletin on swine flu issued by state government said here today. It said 53 samples were sent for testing yesterday, out of which 32 tested positive. The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (from March 1-6) is 56, 63, 26, 42, 51 and 32, it said. Meanwhile, the government has advised citizens to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on appearance of early symptoms like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pain.
