Swine flu in Telangana: 57 deaths, 1532 positive cases

Hyderabad, March 2: The number of deaths due to swine flu rose to 57 in Telangana even as total 1,532 samples were found to be H1N1 positive till March 1. In the current year, from January 1 till March 1, as many as 4,879 samples have been tested, out of which 1,532 were found to be positive and number of death because of other complications and swine flu rose to 57, a bulletin on swine flu issued by the state government said here today. On 28th February, 206 samples had been tested, out of which 63 were found positive, it said, adding, that the number of deaths due to the virus stood at 56 till that day. Sufficient stock of medicine has been made available at all the teaching hospitals, district hospitals and area hospitals and there are enough testing kits and Viral Transport Medium kits, it said. Citizens were advised to take precautions such as reporting to hospital on the first symptoms of swine flu like high fever, sneezing, cough and body pains.
