Swine flu in India: Jalandhar man dies, his family's samples sent for test

Jalandhar, Feb 3: A 35-year-old man, who died in a Ludhiana hospital, has tested positive for swine flu, officials said today. Sandeep, a resident of Nakodar in Jalandhar district, died on January 31, Jalandhar civil surgeon R L Vasan. He was first admitted to the Nakodar Sadar Hospital and then shifted to a private facility in Jalandhar with symptoms of swine flu. (Read: Swine flu in India: 3 die, toll mounts to 52 in Rajasthan)

Finally, he was shifted to the Ludhiana DMC Hospital, where doctors sent his sample to Chandigarh on January 30. His sample tested positive for swine flu, Vasan said, adding his family members have been kept under observation and their samples sent for test.
