Swine flu in India: Guj & Raj worst affected with 392 & 387 deaths respectively

Swine flu toll in the country has reached 1731 and number of persons affected with the flu has reached the 30k mark. While the situation has been out of control for a while, the most affected states are Gujarat and Rajasthan. Read about is swine flu going to be deadlier than before?

Gujarat:Five more lives were lost in Gujarat, taking the toll due to the H1N1 virus to 392 since January this year. 38 fresh cases of swine flu were reported from the state and the total number of positive cases has reached 6186. Deaths were reported from Surat, Vadodara, Gandhinagar, Sabarkantha and Devbhumi-Dwarka districts. Read about swine flu symptoms and signs you MUST be aware of!

Rajasthan: The death toll in Rajasthan touched 387 on Monday, out of which 365 deaths were of people within the state while 22 people, who died, belonged to other states. The number of positive cases has also reached 6247 on Monday since January. The worst affected city in Rajasthan is the capital, city of Jaipur, with 73 deaths, followed by Ajmer - 42 deaths, Jodhpur reporting 33 deaths and Nagaur confirming 30 deaths. The state government is doing everything it can, it's launching an orientation programme for doctors, in both private and government hospitals. Medical tests for people suffering from symptoms of swine flu at six government medical colleges and hospitals in the state have also been made free.
