Swine flu in India: 3 more die of swine flu in Telangana; here's how to prevent Swine flu

Hyderabad, Feb 13: Three fresh swine flu deaths and 23 positive cases have been reported in Telangana, a bulletin on the viral disease issued by the state government said here today. (Read: Swine flu in India: 45-yr-old man dies in UP, toll mounts to 3)

From January 1 till February 12, 2,938 samples have been tested out of which 969 were found to be positive and number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu are 45, the bulletin said. According to the bulletin issued yesterday, 42 deaths had been reported till February 11. (Read: Be aware of these swine flu symptoms, treat early)

How to prevent Swine flu

Preventing contact with the virus:

  • It can spread through coughing and sneezing so always cover your face while doing so. And make sure people around you in office or home also follow this.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth too often
  • Maintain a high level of personal hygiene. Always wash your hands before or after eating and particularly after returning from a public place.
  • Sometimes virus can spread through droplets that have remained on surfaces of things like laptops, phones so avoid using someone else s items. Read more about Swine Flu: Prevention is better than cure
