Sonia Gandhi feeling much better, will recover soon

Congress president Sonia Gandhi was hospitalized on December 18 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital with a lower respiratory tract infection and some breathing difficulties. Gandhi who has a history of asthma is feeling much better now and will recover soon, said the chairman of Board of Management at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital Dr. Ajay Swaroop. She is feeling much better and her condition is improving. Her medication will continue and she will remain under observation. She has been admitted for lower respiratory tract infection and is recovering, said Dr. Swaroop. The congress president was closely monitored by a team led by Dr. Arup Kumar Basu who is a senior consultant in the chest medicine department. According to doctors, the problem was quite common in the winter season.

Gandhi s health has been speculated over a long time now after her surgery in 2011 in the USA, where she spent about five weeks at New York s Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre. (Read: Why has Sonia Gandhi been hospitalised?)
