Smriti Irani, who is currently the Human Resource Development (HRD) minister identified a hidden camera placed right outside the trial room of a Fabindia outlet at Calangute, Goa.
Irani immediately contacted the local BJP leader Micheal Lobo, who reached the spot in some time with policeman and registered an FIR.
'When we went through the recording, the entire video was recorded This is mischief Somebody has been watching the recordings. The police are still checking for evidence They are seizing all the evidence,' Lobo was quoted as saying by NDTV.
There is no information available about the persons accused in the FIR. According to the staff, the video recordings from the camera were stored in the manager's office.
The incident is a matter of shame, and it was only because of Irani's alertness that the camera was spotted. It also comes as a lesson for all the women to check for hidden cameras whenever they change clothes in a store. Even if the store belongs to a prestigious brand, it is not necessary that it won't have cameras.
