TV host Sharon Osbourne recently lost a tooth while live on television while shooting 'The Talk'. The host was discussing the day's topic with the co-stars Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Aisha Tyler and Sheryl Underwood when her dental implant came loose. In a moment of panic Sharon shouted 'Oh s***! My tooth is falling off.' (according to a report by mirror.co.uk).
As the rest of the team tried not to laugh, the host pulled out a pearly white and explained that it was a dental implant.
What are dental implants?
Dental implant in simple terms is an artificial substitute to the root over which a crown (prosthesis) can be fixed. It is made up of a bio-compatible material (titanium, alloy, ceramic, etc.) and is available in different shapes, sizes and surface textures.
