Shah Rukh Khan beats Hrithik Roshan, David Beckham, Sachin Tendulkar and Roger Federer to be voted top celebrity father

We asked our readers on Father's Day who they considered the best celebrity father and Bollywood's King Khan the contest easily beating fellow Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan, football superstar David Beckham, cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar and tennis maestro Roger Federer to the top spot. SRK picked up 22.58% of the votes while Beckham tied with Hrithik for second spot with 16.13% votes each. Sporting legends Sachin Tendulkar (12.9%) and Roger Federer (9.68%) completed the top 5.

Daddy Number 1: Shah Rukh Khan

That Bollywood's King Khan is a loving father is without doubt. Discussing parenthood, he once said in an interview: ' 'I have always thought of my children as my best friends. This, in no way, gives them any special place in my heart. But somehow, I am childish in my heart. I am oversensitive, playful and happy with the trivia of life. If I had a choice between discussing a big business proposition versus playing PS4 with my children, I would choose the latter. I love listening to their stories. I, very early on decided that because I am in that position that I can give them whatever they desire, I will give them so much that by the age of 10, all that they will desire is to fulfil their dreams.' And we guess that's why our readers voted overwhelmingly for King Khan.

Daddy Number 2: Hrithik Roshan

The 40-year-old might have just gone through a messy separation with his wife Sussanne but there's no denying that Krrish 3 actor is a great dad. All his press interactions seem to indicate that he loves his children deeply despite their mother Sussanne likely to get custody. Only recently he Tweeted a picture of Hrehaan and Hredaan at Disneyland with Cinderella's castle in the background.

Daddy Number 2: David Beckham

The world's most well-known footballer is known to be a doting father and a family man. He is often spotted watching football games with his children though he's shocked his younger sons are Arsenal fans instead of Manchester United fans. 'I adore children. I love the fact that our children are part of both of us, it's one of the most amazing things ever. I love being a stay-at-home Dad. I've been lucky, I've always been able to take the boys to school in the morning, and pick them up and make them dinner and things like that. I'm in the room with Harper trying to pick out outfits and anything which I pick out, which I think looks great, she puts back in.'

Daddy Number 4: Sachin Tendulkar
The greatest batsman to ever play the game is a loving father and family man. When his son Arjun started playing cricket and making a name for himself in Mumbai's junior leagues, Tendulkar warned the press to stay away from his son.

'As a father, I will say leave Arjun Tendulkar alone,' said Tendulkar. 'I will say let him enjoy the cricket, don't burden him with expectations. If I had such pressure on me, I would have ended up with a pen in my hands because my father was a literature professor. Arjun is madly in love with cricket. That's what matters. I don't want to put pressure on him whether he performs or not. You shouldn't also put pressure on him either. You need to leave a young player free so he's able to perform.'

Daddy Number 5: Roger Federer

Like fellow dad Sachin Tendulkar, Roger Federer is also one of the greatest to ever play his game. Despite his standing in the game, Roger is a very loving father who doesn't mind changing the diapers or other things for his children, even if that means losing sleep. He said: 'Having twin girls is a life changer that's for sure. But I like getting up and changing diapers. It's the things you do.'

Although the 17-time Grand Slam winner is extremely patient on and off-the-court, he's also prone to losing his temper: He said: 'I'm as patient a father as I am on the tennis court. It takes a lot for me to get really upset, but sometimes kids can get you really cross if they really keep bugging you.'
