After his near- fatal skiing accident, the ace Formula One driver Michael Schumacher is slowly and steadily recovering and it has been reported that he has begun to recognize his family. His family has hardly released any information about his recovery after his accident in December 2013. According to Daily Mail, Schumacher shed tears when he heard familiar voices like that of his wife or children. (Read: Schumi's back: Michael Schumacher out of coma)
This is an encouraging news leading to believe that his recovery is progressing and he now feels emotions. It is a sign that he is alive and understands things around him. Coincidently, he turned 46 on January 3 and his family celebrated it in their home in Switzerland.
Schumacher had suffered severe head injuries in December 2013 while skiing with his family in the French Alps and was in a coma for six months. His traumatic brain injury resulted in a skull fracture, internal bleeding and loss of consciousness and it is believed that he would spend the rest of his life in a vegetative state. Schumacher s wife Corinna released a statement in July, thanking his fans for their support and also said that it is with his fans that they have made it through the hardest times.
