Rishikesh River Rafting Death News: In a tragic incident, a young man who was on his trip to Rishikesh died under suspicious circumstances after falling into the Ganga during a rafting trip. The deceased has been identified as Sagar Negi, who belongs to Dehradun.
The incident took place when a raft carrying several individuals suddenly started shaking, and one of the tourists onboard lost balance and fell into the Ganga River near the Garud Chatti bridge. The deceased has been identified as Sagar Negi. The entire incident was captured on camera, a video of which has gone viral on social media. The chilling video post has raised serious concerns about the safety of rafting.
Speaking to the media, officials said, "The rafting guide acted swiftly to pull the tourists back onto the raft safely one by one. Tragically, during this effort, Sagar Negi became unconscious. He was quickly brought to the riverbank and transported by road to the Rishikesh government hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead."

The tragic death of Sagar Negi during a river rafting trip in Rishikesh has once again raised concerns over safety concerns during water adventures - especially health risks associated with drowning. Speaking to TheHealthSite.com, Dr Nagesh Verma, MyClicnic, Gurgaon, said that while adventure sports like rafting are thrilling, they can quickly turn fatal if strict safety protocols are not followed. He further added that drowning under such heavy river flows can lead to severe internal injuries,s which can cause instant death (heavy internal blood loss).
What exactly happens when someone falls into the river while rafting? Dr Verma said - "When a person drowns, lack of oxygen to the brain within minutes can cause irreversible damage or death. Cold water shock, panic, and strong currents make survival even more difficult. Even strong swimmers can be overwhelmed."
