As per medical reports, the renowned Odia singer died after suffering multi-organ dysfunction syndrome. In order to understand this condition better and know what causes it, we reached out to doctors. Here's what we know so far about this fatal health condition.
What is multi-organ dysfunction syndrome? Multi-organ dysfunction syndrome, also known as MODS, is a fatal health condition in which two or more organs suffer failure at the same time. This can be caused mainly by severe illness or injury.
"MODS usually develops as a complication of conditions like sepsis, major trauma, severe burns, or pancreatitis, where an overwhelming inflammatory response damages organs such as the lungs, kidneys, liver, heart, or brain. As per studies, uncontrolled MODS can also spread to other organs and eventually lead multi-organ failure," says WHO.
Earlier when he was hospitalized two days ago after his health detoriated, Odisha's Ex Chief Minister had shared a post on X, praying for his well being. "Concerned to know that popular singer Human Sagar is hospitalized. Pray for his swift and complete recovery. May he return to his family, his music, and his people renewed, restored, and safe. Get well soon, Human Sagar," he wrote.
