Soon we could have a new treatment for vision loss disease or macular degeneration. Researchers from the University of Iowa have developed a detailed molecular map of eye with vision loss disease. The map has an up-to-date detail about proteins present in the choroid a region of the human eye that is associated with vision loss diseases. The researchers pointed out that looking at the differences in protein abundance could help them identify which proteins might play a critical role in vision loss and eye disease and thus help them in treatment development.
