To keep up with a good 9-10 hours of work, we often resort to cups of strong coffee, probably during the late afternoons. It s more like a mid-way wake up call so we can take on the rest of the day as energetically as the start. However, this dose of caffeine can hinder your night s sleep. It could deprive you of the needed 8 hours of sleep, leaving you fatigued for the next day. Also, it may make you irritable or even too restless to sleep. However, in some cases this may also depend on the intake of caffeine your system is used to. Here are some useful tips to ensure a good night's sleep.

Calorie count in a cup of:

  • Coffee with milk and sugar - 56.6
  • Black coffee - 4.7
  • Green tea - 2

Instead, opt for a healthy variety of tea like green tea which is caffeine-free. This is extremely soothing to the system and comes with highly beneficial antioxidants. It is also useful in relieving headaches. However, ensure that you don't consume this on an empty stomach as it is bound to have side-effects like constipation, vomiting or nausea. If you want something cold then a glass of coconut water could serve you with hydrating electrolytes and boost some energy. These options in no way could disturb your sleep schedule. Here are some health benefits of green tea, you shouldn't miss out on.
