Bihar Reports First COVID-19 Cases of New Wave: Patna Patients Suffer Severe Symptoms, Oxygen Drop and Breathing Trouble
COVID-19 Cases In India Live Updates: India is witnessing a sharp surge in daily COVID-19 cases. In the latest development, the Government has confirmed that the new COVID wave has entered Bihar. As per reports, two men tested positive for the virus on Monday - marking the first cases of the 2025 COVID wave. Officials also stated that both patients underwent examination after experiencing coughing, congestion, difficulty in breathing, and low oxygen saturation levels.
According to Health officials, one of the patients was admitted to the hospital because of the severity of his illness and was released from the hospital after three days of treatment. The second patient received care without being admitted, via the outpatient department of the hospital. The hospital notified the Civil Surgeon's Office about the situation with both their patients. Furthermore, none of the patients recalled travelling outside of the state of Bihar recently.
Despite all these new infections, free COVID-19 testing in Patna's government hospitals has been closed down for more than a year now. According to the Civil Surgeon's Office reports, the state government's newest notice hasn't authorized free testing to resume. The cost of testing in private labs is from ( 1,000 to 1,400) which is increasing the number of individuals that don't test even when they have COVID symptoms.
