Neelamben Parikh, Great-Granddaughter Of Mahatma Gandhi Passes Away At 92 In Gujarat

Great-granddaughter of Mahatma Gandhi, Neelamben Parikh passed away on Tuesday. According to her son Dr. Sameer Parikh, his mother did not have any ailments but had given up on meals due to old age and was battling osteopororsis.

The great-granddaughter of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Neelamben Parikh passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92. Her grandfather was Haridas Gandhi, Mahatma Gandhi's son. Neelamben was known for the famo9us book that she authored. The book consisted of details about the complicated relationship that Gandhiji shared with his oldest son and her grand-father, Harilal.

Neelamben also believed and advocated the Gandhian ideology an he is also known for dedicating her life to Vyara (truth) and made contributions to women's welfare and human welfare throughout her lifetime. She spent the later years of her life residing in Navsari district with her son, Dr Sameer Parikh.

According to news reports, her funeral procession is scheduled today for 8:00 AM from her residence. The cremation will take place at Veerwal crematorium.

Neelamben's Son Said....

Dr Sameer Parikh said to the media after his mother's death, "My mother did not suffer from any ailments but since the last few days, she had almost given up on meals due to age She had severe osteoporosis and was gradually sinking. This morning, I decided not to go to my hospital. I sat beside her and held her hand. I gradually felt her pulse diminish and she slowly sank she passed away peacefully and without any suffering or pain."
