Nalini Ambady a Stanford professor of Indian origin succumbed to leukaemia on Monday. An year long global campaign was conducted by her near and dear ones to find a suitable bone marrow donor. 13 matching donors were found out of which 6 were only half matches. The remaining 7 ultimately refused to donate. Nalini's cancer was first detected in 2004 and she was treated for it. But it recurred last November after which the campaign was launched.
