Mysterious Disease In Jammu And Kashmir: 17 Dead And 38 Affected Since December; Home Minister Orders Probe
A mysterious disease has gripped Jammu and Kashmir causing at least 17 fatalities and affecting 38 people in the region. In response to this, Amit Shah, the Home Minister of India has ordered a probe into the unexplained deaths. An inter-ministerial team is set to form in order to investigate the cause and to provide relief to the people and families affected.
The region reported a series of unexplained deaths in Baddal village of Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district. The first death took place on December 7th. As per news reports, seven members of a family fell ill after a function. Following this, nine member of another family also were hospitalized and six more children admitted in a month.
The sudden unexplained illnesses and deaths have sparked concerns because of which the investigation team has been formed to look into the causes behind it.
However, healthcare officials state that it is not yet a matter of public health emergency.
The tragedy has left the community devastated, with survivors grappling with loss and fear. As the investigation progresses, the government's immediate focus remain on identifying the root cause and preventing further fatalities.
