In 2018, ditch these 7 bad beauty habits that are harming your skin

New year, new you… but what about your beauty habits? Ditch these 7 beauty habits from your skincare and makeup regimen to achieve a healthy glow in the year 2018. Also Read - Is hemp seed oil good for your skin? 5 amazing beauty benefits you should know

  1. Do not use waterproof makeup all the time: Especially when it comes to eye makeup, waterproof makeup products have the ability to not wash off completely even after using a makeup wipe. This leaves residues of makeup products for a really long time causing itchiness and dryness in your skin that may also lead to acne. Decrease the use of waterproof makeup and clean makeup as soon as possible.
  2. Stop shaving your face on your own: The fad that saw a rise in the year 2017 wherein women shaved their face with razor really needs to die this year. Even if you eagerly want to try this new technique that claims to give glowing skin, seek an expert advice first.
  3. Read the labels properly: This year make it your resolution to spend time in also reading the labels of the makeup products you buy. Read carefully the ingredients and ask the concerned person in case of any confusion.
  4. Do not fall for fad beauty techniques without expert supervision: 2017 saw horrible ‘beauty’ techniques like nostril waxing etc. which isn’t good for your skin. This year watch out for any such new, baseless fads and always seek advice from an expert before trying anything.
  5. Do not over cleanse your skin: With so many cleansing products coming up every day we tend to believe that too much cleansing is ok. However, we tend to lose out on the natural oils present in our skin.
  6. Avoid Dr Google: Don’t shy away from going to a real doctor if you are facing some issues related to your skin. Not everything available on Google is authentic and in fact, the incorrect information may harm your skin in ways you can’t even imagine.
  7. Love your natural skin: Last but not the least, think twice before loading your skin up with chemical-laden products or cosmetics. Love your skin the way it is. Not saying that you shouldn’t wear makeup at all but you must learn to love the natural you even more.
