Buffy the Vampire Slayer actor Michelle Trachtenberg's cause of death has been revealed!
The Chief Medical Examiner of the New York City Office confirmed to the media on Wednesday, April 16, that the actor died suddenly due to complications resulting from diabetes mellitus. A spokesperson for the New Your City Office of the medical examiner was quoted saying, "The amended determination was made following review of toxicology testing results."
Trachtenberg's manner of death was ruled as natural however, her family declined to conduct an autopsy after her death. The spokesperson also said, "Toxicology testing can be done without autopsy." The actors death was not deemed as suspicious by law enforcement, says reports, due to which the medical examiner honour the family's decision to not conduct an autopsy.
Trachtenberg suffered a sudden death on February 26 in Manhattan. She was 39.
According to reports from Manhattan police, Trachtenberg was found 'unconscious' and 'unresponsive' in her apartment in New York City on Wednesday at about 8 a.m. She was reportedly suffering from multiple mental and physical health issues. She had recently undergone a liver transplant and according to the cause of death, she was also suffering from diabetes mellitus and passed away because of a complication.
Trachtenberg is known for her roles in "Harriet the Spy," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Gossip Girl." She had begun her acting journey very young. She started as a child actor on Nickelodeon in the '90s where she first gained attention with a role on "The Adventures of Pete & Pete." Following this, she went on to star in Nickelodeon's first feature film, 1996's "Harriet the Spy," sharing the screen with Rosie O'Donnell.
