I was amazed to see how women from across the globe came forward on social media to talk about sexual harassment with #metoo. The revelations by these women are a painful confirmation that even the most powerful women among us are still preyed on by deplorable men and our voices are still rendered silent. Some of us may still be guilty of being silent fearing problems in our career, reputation and safety. The outpouring rage that unfurled on social media only encourages us to come out of our fear and inhibitions. You need to take back power in a world where women are encouraged to shut up. #MeToo: Support the viral hashtag on Twitter, Facebook to spread awareness about sexual assault and harassment

Speak up: I think speaking up for what you stand for is the best thing you can do in a world that wants you to do otherwise. It might feel a little awkward at first, but speaking up is essential. The time to be heard is now. Here's how you can empower your child to speak up against sexual abuse and get help.

Take a stand: Over time, I've realized that every time I took a stand for myself or women around me, although very difficult, my confidence grew. The power of holding a space of integrity and boundary for myself always served as a glass shield of protection.

Do whatever that makes you feel empowered: Wherever and whatever helps you feel empowered, safe, and strong do that. Whether its yoga or meditation or some chant that makes you feel empowered just do it. If being around people who lift you up and remind you of your power, your worth, and your innate strength sticks to them.

Know your strengths: If you are aware of your strengths you can break through any situation. So be confident, push forward and do not back down. Knowing your strengths can make you more emotionally intelligent.

Take care of your body and breathe: Your inner power is a combination of strength, confidence, peace and awareness and yoga can help you take care of your body and mind. So make it a point to break into a few yoga poses every day.
