China's first confirmed Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) patient was discharged from the hospital and returned home to South Korea on Friday. Here are some facts about MERS-CoV.
The 44-year-old South Korean man had no fever for over 10 days and twice tested negative for the virus, Xinhua reported. He visited a MERS patient at a South Korean hospital and showed symptoms since May 21. Despite a doctor recommending that he cancel his travel plans, he flew to Hong Kong on May 26.
