November is a month for the awareness about men s health issues that impact their well-being. In order to make it more fashionable so that it reaches more people, there are different campaigns for the same. One of them is called Movember. In this, men can pledge to grow a moustache (hence the name Movember) and maintain it for the entire month in order to raise awareness, mostly about prostate cancer.

Another similar trend is the No-Shave November. Here, men can give up using razors and use the money to raise funds for cancer research. It is also to spread more awareness about the disease in a unique way. Usually, cancer patients lose most of their hair during chemotherapy so No-Shave November encourages people to embrace their hairy self and use the money they typically spend on shaving and grooming products for cancer prevention. It is also a fun way to start a conversation and spread more awareness about the dreaded disease. Even women can take part in No-Shave November by skipping their waxing appointment or not buying razors, etc.

If you are hooked and want to take part in this campaign, you can visit their website and pledge your support or you can even start on your own. Here are a few beard styles you could try. Many celebs in the past have followed this trend and have sported a beard or moustache for the entire month. Get inspired and spread the word around.

What is prostate cancer?

Like the name suggests, it is a type of cancer which affects men s prostate gland (found in their reproductive system). It can go undetected for years and mostly affects men over 60. Some of its symptoms include pain while urinating, blood in urine and sexual dysfunction. Click here to read more.
