Running from pillar to post in government hospitals for test reports will soon be a thing of the past.
The government has decided to make test reports, admission and discharge ticket, billing and other papers live in 16 district-level hospitals of the state from October. It means, people could be able to see medical test reports online and take printouts in the comfort of their homes. Teams of software engineers will be sent to these hospitals.
Kawantia Hospital of Jaipur has also been included in the scheme. The work of admission of patients, prescribing medicines and discharge ticket will be computerised. Registration and emergency work have already computerised in these hospitals.
The free medicine and test facilities are already running successfully in the hospital. The move will bring transparency. The billing will also be put online. After the computerisation, the number of people benefitting from the schemes will be known easily.
NRHM IT consultant Somesh Singh said, 'From the first week of October, patients will start benefitting from the facility. Medical practitioners will also be trained. Software engineers will install necessary apps and software in computers of the 16 hospitals.'
