Max Cancer Centre at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket has been awarded the coveted Novalis Certificate of Compliance. It is the first hospital in Asia Pacific, and 7th in the world to receive such a certification. The certificate has been awarded keeping in mind the centre s quality and safety parameters for Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SRBT) treatment.
Commenting on the esteemed certification, Dr A.K Anand, Director-Radiation Oncology, Max Healthcare stated, 'One out of every three people undergoing cancer treatment suffers from extreme cancer pain. Prolonged treatment and pain can even leave patients shaken and traumatized. We have been using Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS) and Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy (SRBT) treatment for Cancer patients for the last 3 years. At Max Cancer Centre, we have treated approximately 109 patients through SRS Therapy and 250 patients using SBRT treatment. The speed of the Novalis Tx system allows higher accuracy of the treatment delivery while enhancing patient comfort by decreasing the treatment time. Faster treatment is more comfortable for patients and reduces the likelihood of body or tumor movements, hence increasing the overall accuracy. It is a moment of pride for all of us at Max Cancer Centre to be awarded the esteemed Novalis Certificate of Compliance. Such international recognition of the latest technologies deployed at Max Cancer Centre motivates us to work continuously towards improving Cancer care in India. With this certification, Max Super Speciality Hospital has taken its Cancer Centre to the next level of excellence.' (Read: Amla can reduce your cancer risk by half!)
