Manisha Koirala, a cancer survivor, gives her all for CanSupport’s Walk for Life 2015

Ready for walk for life!! Cansupport! Manisha tweeted on Sunday. She even met young survivors and shared photographs on the microblogging site. Thank you cansupport for giving me an opportunity to share a smile with young special children, she posted.

Actress Manisha Koirala, a survivor of ovarian cancer, took part in CanSupport s Walk for Life 2015 on Sunday to create awareness about the disease. The purpose of the walk is to alert everyone to the rising incidence of cancer, to show solidarity with those affected by the disease, and to raise funds for CanSupport s free of charge and much needed palliative and supportive care services for people battling it. What is Ovarian Cancer?

Ovarian cancer is a malignant tumor, of any histology, on or within an ovary. Because many ovarian tumors are benign but have the potential to become malignant, a broad definition of ovarian cancer includes all ovarian tumors, malignant and benign.

Causes

Ovarian cancer is a term used to represent a group of tumors that arise from different tissues within the ovaries (A female reproductive organ in which ova or eggs are produced). Though most cases are benign (less dangerous form which doesn t spread), some of them may be malignant (spreading to other parts of the body).
