The monsoons are not known to be very make-up friendly. If you are prepping up as a bride-to- be for a wedding during the monsoons, you have to ensure everything is in place with the way you look. Here is all that you should keep in mind to be monsoon-proof for your wedding day.
Pre-make-up preparation
Your skin should be all set for your wedding day. Make sure you hydrate your skin and keep in moisturised, for all the make-up that is going to be applied to your face. If you have dry skin you can indulge in extra nourishment on sensitive areas such as under the eyes, nose, chin, neck, etc.
You can stick to matte lip colours for monsoon. In case you want to quickly add some shine during the wedding funstions, apply a lip balm instead of a lip gloss. This would be more subtle and comfortable at the same time. You can go for matte bright lip shades for the evenings. Shades like candy pink, fuchsia, corals, reds will be perfect for the evening functions.
Eye make-up

Matte eyeshadows look good in the monsoons. Pastel toned eyeshadows look great during the day time. For the evenings, you can stick to matte eyeshadows in browns, greys, blacks, bronze, etc. Matte eyeliners and kohl are always a good choice. You should stick to waterproof mascara for those emotional outbursts, just in case. A bride does not need an eye make-up touch up at all after a professional make-up artist has done his/her job. If you desire you can keep an eye kohl in a small make-up pouch.
Must do
Contour and highlights really help to give perfectly balanced dimensions to your face. In addition, keep the make-up matte in texture as shine is needed only in certain areas such as the center of your face, arch of the eyebrows and the cheeks.
Ditch these
To look absolutely ready for a close-up picture, your face has to look flawless and radiant. Do not overdo with the make-up base, nothing looks worse than a plastic cake face. Keep it natural. Your foundation shade is very important. Do not pick a shade lighter than your skin tone as it would not make you look any fairer. It is simply meant to even out your skin tone. Also, keep away from applying too many colours on your face at once. Focus on one feature at a time. Choose one bright tone whether it is for the eyes or lips.
Keep it handy
Although on the wedding day a professional make-up artist ensures that the bridal make-up is long lasting, from base to eye make-up and the lips. However just to be on the safe side, keep a compact to dab off excess oil/shine from the face and a lipstick for later touch-ups.
