(Image for representation purpose only) A recent survey found that mistreatment or misbehaviour is the most common form of abuse faced by the elderly in India. The survey was conducted by The Agewell Foundation that works for the welfare and empowerment of the elderly. It included 50000 elderly participants from 300 districts across the country. The Foundation reported that 10452 (36.94 per cent) respondents out of 28295 ranked mistreatment as the most common form of abuse.
