A high intensity Earthquake rocked Nepal on Saturday around 11.41 AM, tremors of which were felt in Northern India. According to reports by Zee news, the magnitude was 7.5 on Richter scale and wide spread damage is expected across Nepal. The epicentre of the quake was Lamjung in Nepal and most of Northern India -Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal and Sikkim, felt the tremors.
Following the quake, Prime Minister, Narendra Modi assured citizens that the government will do all it can to ensure help to everyone affected at home and in Nepal.
He tweeted:
Meanwhile a stampede was reported Kutchery in Varanasi following the earthquake.
