Maha Kumbh 2025: AYUSH Initiatives In Place For Millions Of Devotees
As the historic Maha Kumbh 2025 starts today, January 13, 2025, in Prayagraj, the AYUSH ministry has made sure that all the AYUSH initiatives are in place for the devotees. Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State, Ministry of AYUSH, was recently in Prayagraj to review the arrangements. Speaking from there, the minister said, "This event is an opportunity to showcase the power of traditional AYUSH systems in health, and it is our privilege to integrate these practices in daily life to enrich the experience of the devotees."
According to Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, some of the services are day-and-night multi-OPD clinics, mobile healthcare units, and yoga camps at the Maha Kumbh. There will also be free distribution of AYUSH medicines for the devotees. All these services are for all visitors.
Let us look at some of the key AYUSH initiatives that have been planned for Maha Kumbh 2025:
Pilgrims will have 24x7 access to personalized healthcare services. There will be experts who will offer consultations and treatments. This will be rooted in natural and holistic practices of various AYUSH systems.
There will be yoga camps at different parts of the venue and the focus of these camps will be on improving balance, mindfulness, and physical well-being of the devotees.
An immersive exhibit has also been planned to showcase the therapeutic properties of India's rich medicinal flora. Visitors will have the opportunity to understand the healing power of nature and its relevance in modern healthcare practices.
Fully equipped mobile healthcare units will be stationed across the Kumbh grounds by the state AYUSH society. These units will offer health support to and ensure immediate access to AYUSH-based care for devotees throughout the event.
