Lupita Nyong’o becomes the face of a famous cosmetic brand

lupitaThe Oscar-winning '12 Years a Slave' actress Lupita Nyong'o has just signed up to become the new ambassadress of the French beauty brand Lancome, and in that capacity, she will appear in its September 2014 campaign, shot by star photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

'I am truly honoured to join the Maison Lanc me, a brand with such a prestigious history and that I have always loved,' contactmusic.com quoted her as saying. 'I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman's freedom to be herself,' she added. Earlier it was learnt that actress Lupita Nyong'o after winning the Oscar for the best supporting actress for her performance in 12 Years A Slave(which also won the best picture) at the 86th Annual Academy Awards, revealed that she was often teased for being dark-skinned, and she used to pray to god for a lighter skin during her adolescence. The star said she was so ashamed she couldn't even look at herself in the mirror, and added: 'Every day I experienced the same disappointment of being just as dark as I had been the day before.'
