Despite reassuring fans, King Charles' declining health has raised concerns mounting throughout this year. The Monarch of the UK was diagnosed with cancer in February 2024, following surgery for an enlarged prostate. Ever since, he has been under public scrutiny for his health condition.
From attending public engagements with bloodshot eyesto displaying visible weight loss, swollen hands, and a noticeably fatigued demeanour, King Charles' recent appearances at the pre-COP30 event at the Natural History Museum have fueled public concern over his declining health.
Tom Sykes, in his Royalist Substack, wrote, "I was horrified by photographs that have emerged in the last few hours of the King at a joint engagement with his son, the Prince of Wales, in London for the COP30 climate summit .It's impossible to look at these images without seeing how much King Charles's health has declined."
Pointing out how the illness was taking a heavier toll on King Charles, he continued, "The man's suit is falling off him... as these astonishing new images attest, is that his illness is taking a heavier toll than the institution will admit."
The royal expert praised the Monarch for his "extraordinary courage" for putting on a brave face each time he appeared for public engagement.
Talking about King Charles' health, a source close to Buckingham Palace previously said, "He is 76 years old, now very frail, and he knows his end is near." Another insider revealed, "He puts on a very brave face in public, but he is often in pain. The smile you see is an act of strength."
Highlighting the King's determination to lead his kingdom, one royal aide admitted, "Charles has always taken his health seriously, so this diagnosis hit him hard. But his determination to lead, even while battling illness, is inspiring."
As of now, BuckinghamPalace has not released any official statement on King Charles' health. However, no matter the pain he is experiencing, the brave face and composure of the UK's Monarch in public engagement is a testament to the enduring strength of the crown.
