King Charles Health Update: Amid the ongoing battle with cancer, King Charles, who was accompanied by Queen Camilla while attending the remembrance service marking the 80th anniversary of VJ Day on August 15, moved fans across the globe when the queen was visibly seen in tears.
VJ Day stands for Victory over Japan Day, which marks the end of World War II in the Pacific Theatre. And to commemorate the occasion, King Charles and Queen Camilla took part in the service, which occurred at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire.
According to reports, Queen Camilla was visibly emotional during the programme, with her eyes filling with tears, and one rolling down her cheeks, when Captain Yavar Abbas, 105, who served in the 11th Sikh Regiment of the 14th Army, went "off script" to salute King Charles before reading his diary. The Captain said, "I make no apology for going briefly off the script to salute my brave King, who is here with his beloved Queen, despite the fact that he is under treatment for cancer."
Meanwhile, the King covered his mouth with his hand, while Abbas continued, "And if it provides any comfort, I've been rid of it for the past 25 years and counting," he added, as the crowd cheered.
Buckingham Palace has not given any official statement so far on King Charles' health, but concerns are mounting due to the visible health deterioration. The king has been in the news lately for several reasons, such as when internet users spotted a blood spot in his eye. However, the public became alarmed when His Majesty was seen with a walking stick for support to move around his 20,000-acre Sandringham, Norfolk estate.
Following a surgery for an enlarged prostate, His Majesty of the United Kingdom and the other Commonwealth realms, King Charles III, was diagnosed with cancer in February 2024. Reportedly, the King was briefly hospitalized a month after the surgery due to the side effects from his cancer treatment. But the monarch returned to public duties following three months of treatment for cancer.
