A 60-year-old man identified as, Vinod Kumar died at TMH Hospital in Kottakadavu in Kerala's Kozhikode district due to reported medical negligence. According reports from his family, they filed a complaint against the doctor under whose treatment the man was after they found out that the said doctor had not passed the MBBS exam. The so called doctor, identified as Abu Abraham Luke has been serving as a resident medical officer of a private hospital for four years. As per reports, the doctor was taken into custody on Monday after the family of the deceased filed a complaint against him. Abu Abraham Luke had treated the deceased for chest pain.

The deceased was admitted to the hospital after he experienced chest pain. As per the statements from the family, the patient was not administered any medicines initially and was directly recommended for tests and ECG. Unfortunately, in a tragic turn of events, they were informed that Vinod, the patient, was no more. Initially, the family also believed that Vinod died due to a heart issue however, they grew suspicious after Vinod's elder son Ashwin, a practising doctor checked the hospital's death summary.

The hospital authorities reported to the media that they only found out that the said doctor did not have an MBBS qualification only after the family of the deceased launched an official complaint.
