However, apart from that here are 4 ways to ease symptoms of flu: Also Read - Vitamin D supplements don't help ward off colds and flus

  1. Sleep well: One of the first things that your doctor will tell you as you enter his clinic with flu is to sleep well. Compromising on your sleep and ripping your body off adequate rest is of paramount importance. Remember that inadequate sleep has a direct link with a weakened immune system. So, go ahead and up your snooze time.
  2. Exercise: This might come to you as a surprise but yes, this is true. According to leading researchers, exercises could help you to boost your immunity. Michael Flynn, a researcher who studied the impact of exercises on  immune system concluded that exercising for 30 minutes for 3-4 times a week is an excellent way to boost your immunity. However, exerting or overdoing it could reverse its effect.
  3. Take a hot shower: Who doesn’t like a hot steamy bath in sickness? Everybody does. There is a good reason for that, apart from relaxing our minds. Steam helps in opening  your airways, easing congestion, and therefore making it easier to breathe. Hence, it will help in easing your symptoms.
  4. Break-up with stress: Yes, we all know that stress is a villain for your overall health. However, don’t forget that stressing much could not only cause you headaches but even lead you to flu. Therefore, when you are sick or down with flu make sure you are stress-free and do what makes you happy.
