Previously, Dr Ahmad Hassan, at Rawalpindi's Benazir Bhutto Hospital, told a leading media outlet that Imran Khan had bilateral tinnitus, a medical condition that was more severe in the left ear and sensorineural hearing loss. "Tinnitus is likely noise induced and vertigo a few weeks back was likely Benign Positional Paroxysmal Vertigo (BPPV)," ENT specialist, Dr Kashif Mable, told the media.

What Is Tinnitus?

Tinnitus is commonly described as a ringing sound, but some people have reported in the past to have heard roaring or buzzing. The cause of Tinnitus is still unclear, but people who have this medical condition have some degrees of hearing loss. "Tinnitus is only rarely associated with a serious medical problem and is usually not severe enough to interfere with daily life," the National Institute of Health (NIH) explains. "However, some people find that it affects their mood and their ability to sleep or concentrate. In severe cases, tinnitus can lead to anxiety or depression."

All About Vertigo

According to the National Health Service (NHS), vertigo is a symptom rather than a medical condition. It explains, "Vertigo can develop suddenly and last for a few seconds or much longer. If you have severe vertigo, your symptoms may be constant and last for several days, making daily life very difficult."
