Roughly, 1 in every 3 adult suffers from hypertension or high blood pressure. When somebody suffers from hypertension, they are required to take medicines all through their life. However, there are various foods that are good for someone with hypertension. Here are 3 of them:

  1. Water:

Clean drinking water is the magic potion for almost all your worries. Drinking water is not only needed but a necessity for your body. It helps in digestion, absorption of nutrient for the body as well as transporting blood around the body. When you don't have water, your blood vessels become narrower as the body tries to retain its fluids. Narrowed blood vessels make the heart work harder to deliver oxygen to different parts of the body and therefore, increases your blood pressure. So it is best to drink at least 8 glasses of water each day. Don't forget that while you exercise too, drink good amount of water.

  2. Spinach:

Seems like Popeye, the sailor man endorsed spinach for good. Spinach is a wonder green, really. Apart from aiding to build immunity, it is great to prevent high blood pressure and cardiovascular diseases. Spinach is a high source of fibre and is packed with heart-healthy nutrients like folate and potassium. These nutrients are key ingredients for lowering and maintaining blood pressure levels.

  3. Garlic:

Ever wondered why the authentic north Indian dishes used ginger-garlic paste as a standard flavour? This is so because garlic is a great health supplement to lower your blood pressure. Various researches have proven that garlic can do wonders to your body. It is helpful in thinning the blood, so as to prevent blockages in blood vessels and hence, lowers blood pressure.
