Do we miss sleeping or bathing every day? No, right? Similarly, we should not ignore the most important part of our well being and that is the regular practice of asanas and meditation. Festive season brings a wave of heightened energy but it should be channelized properly. There is a tendency of partying late, gorging on food and letting go in general. But one should discipline the tempting mind with regular practice of yoga and meditation.For instance, the consumption of sweets during the festive season is unavoidable, but one can be mindful of eating how much. One may be lured by a variety of savouries, sweets and drinks, but the trick is to moderate the eating and not end up binging senseless.
Benefits of meditation during the festive season
It goes without saying, that meditation will reduce your stress levels. The excitement and activity associated with the festival are bound to stress even the coolest heads, so there is no harm in finding little time to recharge your batteries at regular intervals during the day. Meditation is helpful in enjoying the festival to the fullest. 2-3 short meditations throughout the day will help uplift your mood, keep you feeling light, help you participate and celebrate the festival to the optimum. It will also ensure that during all the running around, your body is able to strike the right balance of relaxation and activity, which must be maintained. Embracing the Power of Yoga
The abundant nature of yoga provides multiple asanas to take care of each and every part of the body. Simple stretching and rotation of all joints help the prana vayu or the system of vital energy functions to work to their optimum best. As a general practice with the body, when we eat more, we get lazy and lethargic, which can be quite an ordeal for this period is one of bustling activity. You should devote 10-15 minutes energizing the container, which is the body. While taking care of what you eat and drink, it is also crucial to practice simple yoga asanas, to cultivate a sense of awareness, alertness and calmness at the same time.
